How to Care Boobie Cactus :

I never thought it would be cactus big and juicy. I took a short dive, mostly of very common species. I also really like the prickly pear cactus—which I recently discovered is actually a perennial where I live!

But I love a good novelty, so when I saw a boobie cactus at a plant show, I knew I had to add it to my collection. It is a fascinating plant whether you are a cactus specialist or a casual collector. Boobie Cactus was easy to spot, like many other cacti and succulents!

Boobie Cactus Soil Requirements :

A suitable soil will be a well-drained clay. It should also be light and rich in nutrients. Loam soils are good for boobie cactus. But growing them indoors allows you to improve your potting soil.

Use cactus potting mix regularly. Add some perlite and half of peat moss. Coconut weeds do help with ventilation. And always use organic compost to stabilize the soil.
The pH level should be kept acidic. 5.5 to 7.0 would be good for your breast cactus.

Boobie Cactus Watering Requirements:

Fukurokiruginboku can survive a bit of neglect. This is due to their water-trapping leaves. Reduce watering to once a week or once every 2 weeks. This should be done in the hot spring or summer.

Avoid watering during cold winters or autumn. They need a lot of water because they hibernate. Always aim for springs, not puddles. Too much moisture on a boobie cactus can cause root rot.

Check the soil moisture level with a water meter. This should be done before sowing. You can also consider feeling the texture of the soil with your fingers. If they feel dry, hold the plants.
Avoid tap water, it contains chlorine which is harmful to plants.

Use rainwater instead. If rainwater is not available, consider replacing tap water. Do this with a suitable water filter. Increase the temperature of the water to room temperature.

Boobie Cactus Light Requirements:

Ideal for boobie plants growing in subtle but bright sunlight. They are able to grow well even when fully exposed to direct sunlight. But don’t expose them to direct sunlight for more than 5 hours.

Over time, they can develop burned or red tissue. Less sunlight greatly facilitates plant growth. So consider moving them to a place where there is plenty of light.

A room with a south facing window would be good. It needs all the sunlight it needs to grow well there. Use a cloth or small cloth to loosen it up a bit. You may also want to consider keeping the plants a few inches away from the window.

Boobie Cactus Fertilizer Requirements :

Apply liquid charcoal to rare cacti. This should be done once every 3 weeks up to a month in the summer. Avoid using fertilizers during cold winters. They must have been asleep.

Boobie Cactus Humidity And Temperature Requirements:

The humidity should be adequate. Humidity between 30% to 40% should be ideal. They are juicy and can trap water in their leaves. So they would not have to mourn forever.

Temperatures should be between 50 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. High temperatures are tolerated but moderate amounts are fine. Keep them away from cold places, it would affect their overall appearance.

Boobie Cactus Propagation :

You can expand your breasts in two ways;
• By reporting results
• By cutting down a tree.
It is recommended to propagate it with a pruning tree. Regular varieties are obtained by seed growth.

Are booby cactus rare?

I’ve never seen one locally, we have quite a lot of really diverse and well stocked plant shops where I live. That doesn’t mean the plant is rare, it just means it might be hard to get your hands on in some places.

I saw one at a boobie plant show, and they are easily found online as well. A simple search on Etsy reveals some great options from more reputable sellers. Also check Facebook groups for local plant/cactus collectors.
